I have a friend who posts stupid stuff on facebook. I want to block these posts, but don’t want to unfriend the person.

Just roll over their statuses and when you get a little x in the corner click on it and select remove from news feed

On your homepage there should be an X beside the post you should be able to delete the posts this way
There should be an X button out to the right side of their posts. Just hit this button and it will ask if you want to hide all posts by that friend. Click yes and that should take care of it. They would still be your friend on facebook but you won’t be able to see their posts unless you go to their page.
if you look to the right of the post there should be an X just click it then it will ask you do you want to hide this post or all future posts from this person, you click on all posts and that’s it
they will still be on your friends list but you will not see their posts
